About Mollusan® MED

Mollusan® MED is a medical product composed of natural ingredients used for treatment of molluscum contagiosum. Liquid formula provides easy application regardless the site of infection – no rubbing into affected skin is necessary. Fluid applied dropwise is left on the skin until dried. Mollusan® MED may be safely used in children. Effectiveness of the natural medical product requires adequate saturation of the skin with oils contained in the product. Systematic application of the product 2-3 times a day for at least 3-4 weeks is recommended, which has a significant impact on effectiveness and speed of action. Within a dozen or so days of use, the skin will become locally red and eruptions will begin to decrease and then dry out. In the further course of application of the product, lesions will disappear. About molluscum contagiosum

Molluscum (water warts) is a common skin infection caused by the smallpox virus. The disease most often affects preschool and school children. The virus is transmitted through physical contact with an infected person or their personal belongings (clothes, towels, toiletries). Infection often occurs in the pool.

The disease is manifested by punctual skin changes. They have the form of smooth dome-shaped nodules with a characteristic depression in the middle plugged with dead epithelial cells mixed with virus particles. Skin lesions are between 1 and 5 millimetres. In children, lesions most often appear on the limbs and torso, in adults, however, in the lower abdomen, on thighs and in private parts.
